I am really happy to read that one of the biggest fitness trends for this year is going to be using one’s own body weight for resistance. So excuse time is really over. If you are lucky enough to have arms use them for push-ups and you are lucky enough to have legs use them to squat and lunge. I have always contended that putting together some basic moves, and making them into a circuit, is all anyone needs to get a complete workout. Walking, running, jumping jacks, imaginary roping, or stepping up and down on a step are all awesome ways to get in cardio. Warm up with some of that and then hit the floor for pushups, crunches, squats, dips and stationary or walking lunges. Do a set of each and then do a couple of minutes of cardio and start over again. When you finish 3 sets of all, do a few basic stretches for all your major muscles and you have completed an awesome workout! Sure, bells and whistles can make things more interesting, but they are NOT necessary. Everything we need for a perfect workout, we probably already have within us. Put together your own circuit of moves and let me know what you come up with. All that limits you is your own imagination.
