Once again, I was sort of uncomfortable with the “how quickly can we lose the most weight” mentality, but quickly remind myself that this TV show, this weight loss process, is a GAME SHOW. Game on, the contestants compete to see who will push the red button first to weigh in and take a chance at winning immunity. This requires LOTS of working out in order to push the weight loss process along even faster. I was glad to hear Dr. H talk with the contestants, and liked the way he explained that IF we were losing muscle, bone, water, tissue it would be dangerous, but losing fat, rapidly, is NOT. This is why we MUST eat when we are losing weight!!!
Victoria was first and unsuccessful. There was no penalty when she did not reach her 6 pound goal; she was just out of the challenge. A second challenge, this week, was an athletic one. I LOVE THOSE. Ahhhh swimming. Very timely. Makes me remember that adding swimming to MY mix, is just around the corner. For the contestants, they would dive down for weights and swim them back to their own scale…2 pounds at time, till the scale hits 100 pounds. Sunshine kicked swimming butt! She won immunity 🙂 The loser would tag an extra pound onto their weekly weigh in. After a contestant finished with their own weights, they could then help another player. This is where our good friend KARMA enters. Sunshine was quick to help her dad get out of last place. With him, Michael and Melissa trailing behind the help assured “Unc” would not get that extra pound. As contestants finished, the help was given to Michael so that Melissa would find herself in last place. No tears shed from me! I loved seeing them all swimming so effortlessly! YOU TRY THAT CHALLENGE!!!! Sunshine won herself and another a week at the Biggest Ranch Resort. I have a really, really hard time putting the word RESORT at the end of anything having to do with Biggest Loser but I am still glad she won the challenge.
While we see both Sam and Melissa trying to decide the perfect moment to hit the red button, Melissa decides to work out at 3am in preparation. In the wee hours of the morning we hear the siren go off to alert us the button has been pushed. We see Sam getting ready to weigh in while Melissa decides if he doesn’t make the 2% loss, she will be next. But just to remind us about karma, Sam exceeds the necessary 6 pounds and instead makes double digits with a 10 pound loss. He is a fat burning machine–just look at him! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY he wins immunity and we get to keep him for another week. And who should fall below the yellow line but Drea and…drum roll, please…Melissa.
Voting was a breeze. It was also unanimous. Melissa who needed 5 votes to be sent packing got them easily. Though she made a good argument of keeping her because she claimed she couldn’t lose big numbers and would fall in the bottom every week, that lawyer couldn’t persuade her jury. I think most of them would rather lose than see her there another week. I am glad they did NOT lose their integrity and also that they stuck together on this decision. Once again, Melissa, don’t let the door hit you on the way out. Not one person stood up to say good-bye to her. Just another sign of how much she was disliked at the ranch.
I have so many things I would like to “talk” about this morning but my time is up for today. Thanks for your kind words as Kyle left the nest yesterday. He arrived safely in Tampa and should be getting the key to his new apartment today. New job starts Monday. A whole new world. Life is good. Hope it is for you, too.

I enjoyed BL last night and I was especially elated that Melissa was sent home. Now she can train at home with her own personal trainer!! lol I was so proud of Sunshine this week. She truly had a defining moment. She has developed self confidence and she is well on her way toward more being more independent. Bravo! Sam is a hunk and is looking hunkier each week. Wow….what a knock-out!
Congrats to Kyle for beginning a new chapter in life (how exciting)……..and to his mom and dad……..their new chapter in life is beginning, also!! (how exciting) Life is good!!

Rita–i totally agree…sam is a hunk! i hope he is the winner, but i don’t think he has enough weight to lose–at some point he is either gonna stop taking off the big numbers or get too skinny! at least i hope he sticks around for a while…and YES, sunshine had a great week! She is beautiful inside and out…
Thanks for your kind words…we are all excited about our new chapters!!! Your new chapter is sure shaping up to be an interesting, rewarding and WONDERFUL one…just as one door closes, another one (or 3!) definitely do open up! love you

What goes around, comes around. And on BL it came around and bit Melissa in the a$$. She made a valid arguement about why she should stay, but I was ecstatic to see that no one fell for that load of garbage she was trying to sell.
Bonni – Thanks so much for last night’s Pilates class. It was just what I needed after my chiro adjustments. I felt so much better today – still a bit sore but no pain – Hooray!

Carol…i am so glad you are feeling a bit better– for someone as dedicated to their fitness as you, it’s my absolute pleasure to adjust the intensity of the class, when possible! Hope you continue to feel better and better.
