Last night’s BL episode confused me a bit. It might be me. Tuesdays are long days and I watch part of the show live and part of it on DVR. Anyway, confused is how I felt. The first challenge, getting themselves out of knotted up rope, I just didn’t quite get. The contestants looked pretty confused, too, but somehow red team got themselves untied pretty quickly and won the ONLY key to the gym meaning black team had to train outside of the gym for the entire week. I would say BRING IT ON, BABY! I love training outside of the gym. Never, however, in my 30 years of training, have I conveniently stumbled upon a whole bunch of spinning bikes just hanging out at the park. Lucky for Jillian, Bob and their black team, they did! Cheaters. If I were training the team, I would have had them running, crawling, jumping, climbing, and yes, using furniture as weights.
Arthur, who asked for help with his food choices, gets the help from the “girls,” when they tell him no meat, just fish. He wants to try harder. In the end, we find out he did! In the meantime the red team trains in the gym and Cara tries to get Rulon to be more open. She succeeds. Jen challenges Justin to a race in the pool and sadly Justin wins. I think he is good looking, but I don’t like his “team leader” attitude, though the others seem to be ok with it. His “above the others,” attitude (at least on TV) just bugs me. Jen brings him a subway breakfast and he eats it in bed. Why do they even have to show that eating in bed is an option when wanting to take on better eating habits. Just saying…
The next challenge still has me confused. Pushing the train and dumping the food off in answer to the questions:
Which has the most calories, which has the most sodium, which has the most protein, which has the most fiber, which has the most sugar and which has the most carbs. While they never posted the answers, both teams did pretty poorly with this part of the challenge, but red team (of course, they are so much bigger and stronger) pushed the train faster and only needed one correct answer. That’s exactly what they had, one correct answer, making them the winning team. I know that peanuts have more calories than walnuts but do walnuts have more salt than peanuts?
Last chance workout and then the weigh in, which took almost an hour. The red team, winning the challenge, got to pick one person from the black team who’s weight would NOT count. Why they picked Irene, I don’t have a clue. Anyway, I really like Irene and she took off 6 pounds. While the red team pulled some nice numbers, several in the double digits, it was Arthur who would pull through for the black team, losing 20 pounds and giving them the edge they needed to win the weigh in! Yay. Moral of that story, fish over meat!!!
Of course red team would send home Jen or Jay as they were new to the team. Of course Jay would ask to keep his daughter on, and that’s how it played out. Jay was the only male I liked, so now girls, it is ALL up to you.
Jay looks great at 289 pounds and Dr. H. tells him he has added seven years back on to his life. He still has a ways to go to add back all the years that would make him his real age of 53. My guess is he will come back to the finale looking awesome and younger than his real age. Good job, Jay.
Next week: DOUBLE ELIMINATION
