While some of us are observing Passover, the miracles of avoiding the plagues, the hope that things can be better and all people can be free, others are, today, celebrating Easter and the idea of rebirth and starting anew. Regardless of what our religious beliefs are (or aren’t at all) I love the idea that both of these holidays focus on possibilities that are bigger than what we can see with our eyes. Hope, promise and being reborn work so well in the month of April, and in the season of spring! As we watch grass and leaves return to their gorgeous shades of green, see flowers bloom and fruit mature, inhale the sweet smell of lilies and gardenias, not only are our senses reborn but we are reminded that all things are possible.
If you want to see some gorgeously hand-painted Easter cookies (and more) visit sweetsbynicole.com (her site is work in progress) and check out the cookies she hopped on over to Kyle’s office this week. Hopefully, one holiday (very) soon, her yummy and beautifully decorated sweets and treats will be available to the masses. Wishing Nicole and her family (and Kyle, too) a very happy Easter.
