All worth repeating, I am posting some of the reader tips I received in comment and email, regarding yesterday’s post.
Rita says: Whenever I eat out, I visually divide the portion in half and eat that amount. There are even times when the portion is so huge, that I divide it into thirds! I have been doing this technique my entire adult life. It really works. I am satisfied with the portion and I have another meal to enjoy. My brain is fooled and my tummy is full.
Carol says: If – WHEN you eat out, ask for a “to go” box at the start of the meal. Ask the server to ask the chef to cook without butter or oil. Decline the offer of a bread basket on the table. Ask for all sauces and/or dressings on the side. Servers don’t mind any of this, as long as you’re nice about it.
JW says: Get up and walk around for a few minutes after every meal. This was a hard habit to get into, but it has helped me lose 20 pounds over the last year.
Laura says: Fill up on the lowest calorie foods on your plate first and work your way to the higher calories ones.
Shelli says: Remove sugar from your diet to the best of your ability!!
Fun VFT last night with Derek, Pete, Jane, Mitch and Blaze. I am very happy with those new Gardein burgers!
Thanks for sharing YOUR tips. Keep em coming. Remember that deleting the word “diet” and replacing it with “way of life,” is the key to long term weight management.
