From the time we are children, at least in the USA, we tend to associate the day after Labor Day with the end of summer and a new school year. Even though here in south Florida, the school year starts in August and summer is eternal, most of us still feel today is the start of new beginnings. Keeping with that theme, I will be starting a brand new class strength training class, today at 11:30. If you are a local and looking to add some weight training into your life come on out and try this easy to follow, comprehensive class which will utilize body weight, balls, resistance bands and dumbbells. Designed to increase muscular strength and endurance, this class will definitely help increase bone density as well. While this hour will not be limited to SilverSneakers members, it will definitely be safe for that segment of the gym population. It will also be a great fit for someone newer to strength training as well as someone that has trained for years and is a looking for a structured time and a group environment. Because I am committed to bringing peace and balance to all my students and clients, we will be sure to include some stretching, breathing and ???? Consider this class instructors choice with a focus on creating stronger muscles and bones.
This being the day after Labor Day and the beginning of a new school year, I hope if you are local, you will come out and try this class, or one this evening. 6pm is a cardio/strength combo and 7pm is a yoga/Pilates mix. Come see you old classmates or come meet some new ones! Since most of you AREN’T local, I hope you will consider trying something new wherever you are. Maybe new is as simple as tweaking your fitness routine to add more running to your walks, adding push-ups to your routine, going backwards on the elliptical machine, changing the amount of repetitions you do with your weights or changing the amount of weight your are pushing and lifting* (more isn’t always better, sometimes it is great to go lighter and do a lot of reps).
Change doesn’t have to be big to add big results. Get your change going today. It might just make you feel like a kid back in school and feeling like a kid can never be a bad thing!
