Vegan Feast Thursday found 8 of us at the table. Thanks to Gardein and Diaya, I made chicken nachos to go with the hard and soft tacos made with Boca Crumbles. A ripe and ready to eat pineapple from our front yard doubled as a centerpiece during dinner, and a sweet treat, as part of dessert. It’s always nice when we have surprise guests and have to break out extra chairs.
When walking everyone out to say goodnight, the jasmine plant made her flowers known by the one of a kind, sweet smell. I picked off a stem, placed it in some water and set it on my master bathroom counter to enjoy through the night. This morning, grabbing the newspaper off the driveway, I was once again greeted by the plant’s sweetness and all I can do is sing a great old tune by Seals and Crofts.
“Sweet days of summer, the jasmine’s in bloom…July is dressed up and playing her tune…Summer breeze, makes me feel fine…”
Hope wherever you are, you, too are feeling fine and blowing through the jasmine in YOUR mind! Enjoy this sweet day of summer.
