Good morning. Here is is the last Saturday in March. Passover and Easter are right in front of us. Time sure is flying. I will be juggling my schedule around on Monday (though all classes are as usual) to prepare for family on Monday night. Tuesday night I will be cancelling both classes at Tamarac Fitness Center in observance of the holiday. Wednesday I’ll start kicking up the workouts to burn off the too many calories consumed 2 nights in a row! Though I don’t eat the meat or the poultry or so many of the holiday indulgences, I will still be sure to eat more than enough!
Yesterday I posted a breathing technique, using a single nostril . Today I will suggest that you can also try alternate nostril breathing. Using your thumb and ring finger pinch off your right nostril as you deeply inhale through the left. Then pinch the left, open the right and exhale it all out. Keeping fingers the same, take your next deep breath in through the right side, and out through the left. Keep alternating for 5-10 breath cycles. This is said to restore balance and energy flow and help bring oxygen to both the right and left sides of the brain. I need as many brain cells working as possible, so I am trying to do this once a day. In fact, I just did!
This week the news reported that women over 45 looking to simply maintain their current weight, need to do a solid 60 minutes of moderate exercise daily. I believe its at least 60 minutes! For me, its more like 3 hours, but my body is probably quite used to too much exercise. The news also reported that smiling not only lifts your spirits, but actually helps you live longer.
I am going to eat an energizing breakfast and then head out to TFC for an hour of at least moderate exercise…and with a smile on my face! Hope wherever you are, you’ll be doing something similar.
Have a fantastic Saturday filled with smiles, peaceandfitness.

As I have been in pursuit of peace and balance in 2010 (and making strides to find them) this exercise is certainly right up my alley.
You’ll see my smiling face shortly, ready willing and able to get in my 60+ minutes of exercise 🙂

Sending you SMILES from the west coast!
Those ‘smile lines’ are the only wrinkles I truly enjoy!

They are not wrinkles………they are happy lines!!!!
