Last night was the anxiously awaited makeover episode of Biggest Loser and it was great to see how far our contestants have come in just 10 weeks!! 10 weeks and hundreds and hundreds of pounds have been lost, while so much has been gained, in every other way. Once again, fashion guru Tim Gunn and celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves were on hand for the transformations. Even the 3 “kids” were involved in the makeovers which was probably great fun for the 2 girls, but looked a bit grueling for poor Bingo, who just wanted to wear his surf shorts and hoodie (which I think was appropriate for him!) For the first time in BL history, the contestants got to take their new looks home for 2 weeks, during which time they had a challenge with a big payoff. Each contestant that would lose 5% of their weight while home, would be granted immunity for another week on the ranch.
While I am far from a fashionista, I never really love the outfits (or most of the hairstyles) for the makeovers, but what do I know? Danni did look awesome walking out of that dressing room in some funky skinny jeans, something she thought she would NEVER get to wear. Since she kept saying she was ready for change, I expected to see a much more dramatic change in her hair, but it just looked curly to me. Gina happened to look wonderful in the suit she walked out of the dressing room in, leather skirt and all. And the guys all looked good. Joe, who Mitch dubbed Coach (Craig T. Nelson) looks more and more like him and it was fun to watch him at home with his twin brother. Jeff is doing great, he just never really won my heart. I have fallen for the “underdog” once again, and I am rooting for Jackson, who we saw volunteering with a youth group, as he loves to do. That alone speaks volumes for a 21 year old!
Back at the ranch for the final weigh in, everyone knocked it out of the park. Jeff lost 19 pounds, Joe 17, my boy Jackson, 15 and Gina and Danni each lost 10 pounds giving them all one more week on the ranch. Next week is the last week. Someone will fall below the red line and be immediately eliminated. Two others will fall below the yellow and America will vote for who leaves and who stays. We never know the outcome of that vote until the finale, which technically should be in 2 weeks. I very much hope to see Jackson and Danni blow up the scale next week and assure their spots. I won’t be sad to say goodbye to Gina…or Jeff…or even Joe. But at this point, it’s anyone’s game to win. And anyone’s quarter of a million, with that!
I should have taken pictures of the tv screen because NBC is very tight with releasing pictures from last night’s show…
