It’s almost the weekend and sometimes we just want to say no to our usual weekend workout. In fact, for those that are committed to a fitness routine, though I certainly applaud your consistency, taking a break every once in a while is not only good for the head, but also for your body! You can still burn calories while multi-tasking and accomplishing some of your household chores. Put on some music and spend just 20-30 minutes cleaning your house, your garage, your gutters, washing windows, mowing your lawn, pulling weeds, raking leaves. Perhaps you need to spend a little more fun time with your kids. How about 20-30 minutes of bicycle riding, shooting hoops, playing ping-pong, jumping rope, playing frisbee or join the kids for some hopscotch.
Exercise doesn’t have to be at the gym, doesn’t have to come in the form of a one-hour workout and definitely does not always have to be grueling. It doesn’t have to be complicated and it doesn’t even have to take time away from your family or your chores. It just has to be DONE! Find some fun and multifunctional ways to burn some extra calories this weekend. Let me know what creative ideas you come up with!
