*Percent Daily Values are based on a 2,000 calorie diet. Your daily values may be higher or lower depending on your calorie needs.
If you are an “average” size woman, or one looking to lose weight, 1330 calories is probably more calories than you need in a whole day. Awareness is everything. Enjoy your indulgences, just know that they “cost”. Chris Powell of Extreme Makeover Weight Loss, suggests we do have a “cheat” day, but his trick is to keep the “cheat” calories to under 1000 and to get rid of the leftovers. So go out and split a piece of cheesecake or whatever it is you desire on your “cheat” day, just don’t go overboard by making your whole day a great big indulgence or you might need all week to burn those extra calories back off! Also, beware of the holiday themed versions of your favorite treats. I remember reading that the holiday versions of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (I think they talked about the Santa shaped ones) have tons more calories than the regular ones. Let us certainly enjoy the holidays, but when they end, let’s hope we aren’t wearing our enjoyment on our bellies, butts, hips and thighs!
