“When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don’t adjust the goals, adjust the action steps.”
– Confucius
The importance of continuing to change things up cannot be taken lightly. While this applies to most everything in life, it most definitely applies to weight loss. Continue tweaking your food intake and your movement and you WILL reach those goals! For many of us, cutting a couple of hundred calories a day can make the difference between maintaining and losing. Sometimes its a food item or two that are sabotaging our efforts. Maybe (like often happens in our home) you are eating dinner too late. In this hectic world, we often don’t have a choice, so…maybe we can cut some calories out of dinner. In terms of moving, try small changes like changing the incline on your treadmill, going backwards on your elliptical, or lift some heavier weights. The more muscle mass in our bodies, the more calories we burn at rest, so it pays to have plenty of lean muscle, male or female. Even the smallest of changes can make a difference. Stand more, sit less…walk more, stand less, run more, walk less…you get the idea.
So, it’s worth repeating….
“When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don’t adjust the goals, adjust the action steps.”

I love that quote..”don’t adjust the goals, adjust the action steps.” As I am working through some bodily changes, I must adjust my action steps and retrain my brain. Thank you for such sage advice, master teacher!!!

What wonderful advice from YOU and Confucius! Change is my favorite word! And it’s the only thing that stays the same!!
I’m going to change it up and incorporate some exercise at work. I love Justin’s idea of doing 25 push-ups each hour he’s at work! I’m not THAT ambitious but I will get in some squats, leg lifts and stretches while in my office today.
Whoo hoo!!! I get to exercise at work today! THANKS for the inspiration!!

I have been all about change lately. There is way to make it happen and I will keep changing things up until it happens for me.
