Doing a lot of multi tasking today, and it IS amazing how much you can get done when you have a good plan, focus and determination.
After spending time preparing last night, this morning we were able to easily set up all our garage sale items, and be ready for our first customer who showed up about 7:30. We had a nice steady stream of customers before I left to teach at 9, and Mitch held up the fort for about 2 hours. Thanks to all my Saturday morning students for coming out in force, with all their energy and playing along in the ab challenge (which worked so nicely into our “deck of cards” program). So day 7 of the challenge is completed (and then some) for today.
I got home from the gym with plenty of time left to finish out the sale with Mitch. It was a success in that we cleaned a lot of things out of our home, (and they didn’t have to go into a garbage pit!) made a little cash, met some very nice and some very interesting people and a made a couple of little kids happy. Mission accomplished! Our last customer, as we were already packed up, turned out to be someone we knew and hadn’t seen in many years, so that was kind of fun and she got to go home with some freebies for her girls.
Most of what was left got quickly bagged up and Mitch is at Goodwill, dropping them off right now. That is always a win-win situation.
But here, my peaceandfitness friends, is the ironic part of the garage sale. We set up a really great FITNESS section. Brand new dvds, books, assorted equipment, gloves, music and more. NOT A SINGLE ITEM SOLD. People walked right past the whole section. I don’t even know what to say about this…..makes me kind of sad…on every level.
Take care of that temple that you call your body. Nourish your soul. Have an awesome weekend.
