First things, first. If you are a “local,” today’s groupon is to the Falafel Bistro in Heron Bay shopping center. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! It’s my favorite local place with the “cleanest” foods and the menu is now NOT just vegetarian. They are making all kinds of middle eastern goodies to satisfy EVERY-ONE’S desires. Grouponads usually appear somewhere on my site or just click the link (the word Groupon in this sentence.) If you are NOT local, you still should join! The deals are always local to where you live. Great idea. Brilliant (yet cocky) young guy who started this thing. I have taken advantage of offers at Sublime, Barnes and Noble and now this one, which is my favorite so far. Carole, Dolores, Ted–we will be going there and Sublime when you guys all come visit. Definitely! And thank you 3 for being so understanding and easy! I love you.
Carol, I loved when Hannah was playing volleyball, too. It was a great, tear jerking segment, for sure! Ah, yes…Tuesdays.
But here it is VFT. Derek mentioned I hadn’t made “breakfast for dinner” lately, and so his wish is my command. I LOVE breakfast for dinner, it’s just TOO fattening! Tofu scrambles, bagels, faux bacon and homemade, grilled “hash browns.” When I make my tofu scrambles I just sauteed up some onions, mushrooms, peppers (really whatever I have readily available) and then literally squish the blocks of tofu (I use 2 blocks for VFT) in between my fingers and let it fall into the pan of already sauteed veggies. I always add a bunch of spices and cumin is always one of them. Derek and I love the cumin in the scrambles. I just let it sit until all the water from the tofu evaporates and then I add a few spoons of salsa which definitely kicks it up. Viola, its a meal. I’ll cut potatoes into very small pieces and mix them around with some olive oil and salt in a big tin and cook them on the bbq till they are starting to get brown and crispy. That’s where fattening comes in! And of course the bagels. So personally, I will exercise (try) portion control and the kids can do the same.
Happy Birthday wishes to so many of my favorite people that celebrate over the next few days! Also sending wishes to my friends and students who are out of the gym, mostly for back problems! Rita, Sylna, Marcus, Fred…I miss you all and hope to see your smiling faces back in the gym soon.
It was great to hang out with “the girls,” again yesterday. Joy, I will miss you tremendously when you head back to New York, tonight. Thank goodness for cell phones.
Thanks, Martha, for sharing that meditation; The Laboratory. More about that in the next few days. I am going to transcribe it and place it on the site. The feedback from those I have shared it with, has been very positive.
Linda (at Bally) thanks for sharing that photo album. I know why we are so connected. When I got to that picture of you in front of the 1967 sign at New Paltz, it really warmed my heart, even more. You are such a great energy in class and I am thankful to have connected with you and that energy.
Kyle and Nicole. I miss you, both. Thanks for playing Words with me. You, too, Derek…and James. I love the game and I love the connections.
Ok…enough of my blah, blah, blogging. It’s time to walk big red. And it is a BEAUTIFUL breezy morning so I am sure he will have that extra bounce in his step, which I am always thankful for.
And I am always thankful to ALL OF YOU.

I was so excited about the Groupon coupons to Falafel Bistro. I picked up a few……so when you are ready…..let’s go!!
Listen to your body……I keep saying that as I continue to stretch and “do my own thing” sans the physical therapy. The therapist set me back (no pun) 1 week when I told him how uncomfortable his stretches felt. So…listen to your body. I surely will.
Enjoy this gorgeous day and VFT!!

“understanding and easy”?
Why be any other way with one’s best friends??
Thanks for describing your tofu scramble. Having mostly given up eggs, I think I will try that sometime soon…
Your tips and insights are wonderful! Bonni, I think I speak for those who know you when I say WE ARE ALL THANKFUL to You!

I purchased a couple of the Groupons this morning too. I almost texted you Bonni, but I know you subscribe.
I missed you Tuesday – I ended up staying home and taking a day off from the gym. When I looked at my calendar I counted 9 consecutive days of HARD workouts – no wonder I was tired – so I listened to my body.
