The USA surely has a new “darling” in Gabrielle Douglas. I admit that prior to the Olympics, I never even heard of her and now she is the talk of the games. Congrats, Gabby. Love the summer games. Not just watching the competition, but hearing the incredible stories of training and the incredible challenges some met along their journey to the top. I watched a young woman become the first American (male or female) to ever win gold in Judo. Kayla Harrison, 22, has come out to tell her story of sexual abuse by her ex coach, which started when she was 13 and lasted 3 years, before she was able to tell her secret. I absolutely loved seeing her with her current coach, who obviously worked hard to not only train her to reach for the gold, but also to regain trust.
The Olympics. Not just entertainment but also great inspiration and motivation. Love it.
