Happy hump day. Let’s march right into Biggest Loser talk. Emotional episode, watching everyone go home for 2 weeks. They all did really, really well at home. It was very challenging trying to eat my Tuesday night special, Gardein wings and salad, while tears continuously rolled down my face, watching the before and after images. 8 weeks of blood, sweat and tears and their lives are forever changed.
But then, it’s back to the contestants current reality, the ranch. Their challenge, a 5k on treadmills. Not just any treadmills…those curved ones are very cool looking and very challenging looking but I could feel my shins and ankle fronts hurting from that constant uphill position of the foot. I know, I get anal about this stuff. Of course Justin and Rulon finish first. Of course. The contestants know that they get to pick their trainers, in the order they finish the race. This is where Karma comes in for poor Arthur. He knows if he finishes last, he will probably not have his place on black team and will pay for messing with Jen and the teams in an earlier episode. Without his black team, he will certainly be sacrificed, should red fall below in the weigh in. And that is exactly how it goes down.
Black team loses an amazing 81 pounds. Jen and Olivia enter one-derland. Marci looks incredible, down another 14 pounds and weighing it at 167. Actually, the black team is ALL female, now and all 7 of them lost double digits. How crazy is THAT? I find myself attached to EVERYONE on the black team, and NO ONE on the red team. Weird. Red team had some big losses by Rulon and Justin, of course and also by Austin and Arthur. Arthur lost 16 pounds, but it was just short of what he needed to keep him on the ranch. He is pretty sad, but gets it together very quickly. He says he was over 646 pounds when he started his weight loss journey and is now 390. The trainers and probably all the contestants as well, are really sad to see Arthur have to go home, but out goes his refrigerator light, he leaves almost half the man he once was, and we are left with the lucky 13.
Next week there will be team captains, layered cakes, mud-pits and some surprising numbers on the scale. I can hardly wait!
Arthur, earlier in the season. Can’t wait to see him at the finale!

OK – RE: Arthur – Karma came back and bit him in the a$$. I felt bad for him, but sometimes what goes around, comes around.
The scene with Hannah in the gym playing V-Ball again for the first time in years had me crying my eyes out. Time and again, she missed the ball, missed the shot, “failed” to play the game to the standards she had set for herself. Did she quit, get embarrassed, walk away, give up ?? NO – She just kept at it until (with a little help from her dad) she found her rhythm and hit her stride. I was so proud of her – I can so relate to her and what she was feeling on that court.
This has been a really season so far – I LOVE Tuesdays !
