Here it is. December. Following black Friday and cyber Monday, today is GIVING Tuesday.
Yesterday’s blog entry stirred up a lot of great conversation and ideas. Thank you to all who offered wisdom and suggestions and listened, yesterday. It will take me a bit to put it all together.
I did learn that Feeding America has a food bank in Pembroke Park at 2501 SW 32nd Terrace. There is also one in Boynton Beach that serves Palm Beach. If you go to google and type in Feeding America, it will take you right to the site and entering your zip code will show you where the closest food bank to you, is. Please share this info for anyone you know that might be food insecure. You can also donate directly thru the site.
Wells Fargo, a generous supporter of Feeding America, has offered to match up to $250,000 in donations from now thru the end of 2020. (Makes paying my mortgage a little sweeter). That means every dollar donated can provide up top $40.00 worth of food and groceries! Remember that donations made before the new year, may be eligible for a tax deduction.
NO. I do not work for Feeding America and have no ties to them. Food is often available through local places of worship, so those can be checked at as well. Community efforts exist all over, we just need to dig them up. Fire stations, schools, etc. It’s kind of sweet to know your donations are impacting people in your own area. If you know of a place near you, please add the info in the comments. I know it is intimidating to have to put in your email address in order to leave a comment, but you can’t imagine how much spam we receive, otherwise. Knowing this site is managed by my son, as a gift for me, I promise neither of us will spam you or try to sell you anything. I have always had an amazing, caring, supportive, bright network of family, friends, students and clients and I am open to all of you for suggestions and input!
We are just here to offer some peaceandfitness. Or should I say peasandfitness????
This being December, we all start thinking about getting ourselves back in shape after the holiday season. This year, many of us lost control back in March. It’s been a hard year, so don’t be hard on YOU! If I can help you get back in the groove, either in a small socially distanced group or privately, please give me a holler. I can easily figure out a plan that works for your time, budget and desires!
