Last night was the final taped episode of Biggest Loser before next week’s finale. The 4 contestants went home for 60 days and at the end of the 60 days they got back together to run a marathon. With a 26.2 mile route, set up just for the final 4, they all completed the race. With family members, friends, the trainers and former contestants and winners helping them along the way, Rudy was the first to cross the finish line. I don’t think he ever stopped jogging and crossed the finish line in 4 hours and change followed by Amanda, then Liz and Danny who remained supportive partners the entire time. Watching this episode, reminded me once again, how MENTAL completing a race is! I will be flashing back to this episode as I rebuild my own running stamina, after my recent injury. More importantly, I will be reminded of it as I push my students and clients to challenge themselves to become stronger in body and mind.
At the weigh in, the men did MUCH better than the woman leaving Amanda and Liz below the yellow line. Now home viewers have until this afternoon to decide who will be eliminated and who will be in the final 3. We find this out next week at the start of the finale. Though the pink team has been on a winning streak, I am not sure Amanda can lose enough weight to compete with the big boys. Thinking either Danny or Rudy will be this years BIGGEST LOSER WINNER, but they have all won their health and lives back!
To see what is humanly possible in just 11 weeks, or even 5 months is inspiring in ways not much else is. Next week we will get to witness what ALL the contestants from this season have accomplished as they all return for one final weigh in. While the winner of the final 3 will receive the bonus of $250,000 and the “at home” winner will receive $100, 000 they ALL received a second chance at life.
Now I better go vote for my choice to be shielded from eliminationo at www.nbc.com – then it’s time to get off my butt and out to kick some!
