Please don’t stay away from nuts because have a lot of calories. Nuts are an important part of our daily diets for so many reasons. This morning, let’s take a look at the pistachio. A one-ounce serving equals about 49 nuts and has as much potassium(290 mg) as an orange and 3 grams of that all important fiber. Along with 30 other nutrients (wow!) that one ounce serving will give you close to 50 nuts at about 170 calories. They are proven to lower blood pressure and heart rates. Eating nuts about an hour before a meal is a great way of staving off hunger and curbing calories consumed at that meal. So, while keeping in mind portion control, let’s all work on getting a little nuttier!

I have been eating a lot more nuts lately. I have discovered that my body and metabolism respond well to a diet that is a little higher (25% – 30% of my daily calories) in healthy fats. I have been eating Almonds, Walnuts, Flax seeds and Pumpkin seeds as well as Avocado and Olive and Coconut Oils. It’s amazing how much more satisfied I feel after eating a snack or meal with a considerable amount of fat in it. Pistachios – if you buy them in the shell – would also take quite a while to eat – another way to feel fuller is to eat slower 🙂

Good info and right to the point. I am not sure if this is in fact the best place to ask but do you folks have any thoughts on where to get some professional writers? Thanks in advance 🙂
