Welcome to April (no fools,) and opening day for our Florida boys of summer. Tonight the Marlins play the Mets and we’ll be watching. April is a great month with 2 of my favorite men celebrating their birthdays. Speaking of birthdays, today my SilverSneakers students will gather to celebrate Tommy’s 99th!! Wow. What an inspiration. I must add that he takes my co-worker Carole’s class because mine is too easy! How great is that?!
When Mitch got home from work yesterday we pulled carrots, gathered lettuce leaves, picked tomatoes and green pepper as well as some basil and parsley. Just one strawberry was ripe but one is better than none! Prepping the garden goodies, we had to pause for a picture of our pickings and the kitchen looked like the photo down below…
It was quite exciting!
Yesterday I realized that their are some interesting coincidences amongst those of you that comment regularly. Their is Judi and Judy. Judy is married to Sam. There is Carol and Carole. Carole is the daughter of another Judy and Sam. Funny, right? And then, of course there is Rita, who is definitely one of a very wonderful kind. Love you all. Thanks for being vocal. Thanks also to all of you who quietly come in for a piece of peaceandfitness. Have a great day. Beware the pranksters! Go Marlins!!

‘Love the crop!! Congratulations on your efforts!!
How big a space are you growing in?

Good morning, Carole. We have 2 gardens right now. The picture of the “lettuce” garden, shows a garden that is about 4 feet wide by about 2 and half feet deep. Just guessing. The other garden runs along the side of our house for about 8 feet wide, and under 2 feet deep. The deeper garden is in the back and gets more sun than the side garden. Too much sun, really! All trial and error. We’d like to keep expanding around the house and grow edibles everywhere! A garden container is a great idea, too. My current thinking is we need a lot less space than we think and even growing one or two different items can bring great reward!

‘Love your positive attitude Bon!
