Yesterday, after a “New Year’s Day” type conversation about change, the importance of being proactive instead of reactive and practicing daily wellness instead of treating illness, I found this wisdom from the Dalai Lama on my desktop calendar. I thought it was quite perfect. It certainly is true regarding health and I guess it is true for just about ALL aspects of life.
“Time never waits but keeps flowing. Not only does time flow unhindered, but correspondingly our lives too keep moving onward all the time. If something goes wrong, we cannot turn back time and try again. In that sense, there is no genuine second chance.”
The Dalai Lama
I wonder about people and how many of us jump right into our health/fitness resolutions on the 1st of the year, how many on the 2nd and how many wait until the following Monday. I am one who has to jump back in. By getting back on track with food and beverage intake, I figured I could probably undo the damage of the past couple of weeks in just a few days. Choosing to continue with the holiday indulging through the weekend, would have set me back that much more. But I know not everyone has the same mentality, so I am interested in you “weighing in” on this one (pun intended) so please feel free to leave a comment!
Here’s to the best 2014 for all of us. May it be filled with much love, joy and yes, Rita, much laughter. Thanks to Derek and Jolene for the calendar and a special wish to them both as life continues to evolve for them this week. All my fingers and toes are crossed for you two….
