Good day and welcome to the month of March. For much of the country we look forward to this month as we get ready to change clocks and welcome in spring. Here is south Florida, the lion is as kind and gentle as the lamb, but still I will look forward to longer days and watching the pool temperature heat up. Thanks, Carol, for posting the link to a local Memorial Day 5k in yesterdays comment section….I haven’t done one in a few years, but I will see what my work schedule is for that day and maybe I will join you…Catching up on my Dr. Oz shows yesterday, I learned that the fiber in Metamucil will lower cholesterol considerably. His demonstration showed how it works once inside your body, literally pulling it out of your body and, well, into your poop (his word). While drinking that stuff 3 times a day doesn’t really sound exciting, if it works, it sounds pretty harmless and for sure one would never have to worry about irregularity!…I tasted some totally awesome tofu eggplant marinara parmigiana dish at Whole Foods yesterday. I am sure it was a bunch of calories, but when I saw it on the hot bar, I had to buy a piece. It was a great lunch and I will be going back for more, soon! Thank you, Whole Foods, for making some really great vegan dishes…
As if we haven’t had enough tragedies and losses lately, we had to add the loss of Davy Jones to thelist, yesterday. I loved the Monkees as a little girl. Who of my generation didn’t? More interesting is how much Derek loved them as a very young kid. While others his age were eager to see their friends on Sesame Street, Derek somehow had us taping (on those big ol’ video cassettes) “Hey Hey We’re the Monkees.” While he would grow up to love music, I think it was the slapstick humor that made him such a fan at the age of 2! Ironically, he has the same birthday as Davy Jones and one of the other Monkees, too (can’t remember at the moment). Thank you, Davy, for making us all daydream believers.
