Ahhh. Another Friday. With all my Friday clients out of town, today will be one of my last weekday OFF from work. I am already savoring each and every glorious moment. It’s true, I LOVE my job and when you love your job it’s never work, but I am human and also love MY time! I will start my day with a long walk with my favorite furry guy, I will end the day at a wine tasting in Coral Springs. Want to come? It’s at 7 pm at Crown on University Drive (at Ramblewood). I look forward to seeing the regular suspects, many of my gym friends who appreciate the benefits of a good workout and a good glass of wine. Its a great way to catch up with friends and get in some much needed servings of from the fruit group. (Well, wine = grapes, right?) What could be bad?
In between walking and wine, I am planning on filling my day with happiness and savoring the last workless Friday of summer. While some may consider Friday the 13th to be an unlucky day, I feel like one pretty damn lucky girl! Life is good. Hope to get in a good swim this afternoon. Now finding that I am swimming long enough to almost find it meditative.
Several planets aligned last night but I was unable to see the whole show. There were also lots of shooting stars, but with the “kids” here last night and managing to sleep till 6:15 this morning, I didn’t get to see a single one. I am kindof disappointed, but time with the kids was well worth the trade off. I did make the pasta recipe that I posted yesterday. It was decent, pretty easy (though it took some time) definitely healthy and went a long way, but I didn’t love it enough to think about repeating it any time soon. Derek specifically asked for me to make it with whole grain pasta. He is reading The China Study. It will be an interesting read for him, who has been on a plant-based diet for 10 years, but definitely had some cleaning up to do with his meals. A sloppy vegan will be an unhealthy and probably overweight one! Half way through the book, he is definitely loving it and gleaning loads of great information. I officially no longer have any need to buy boring white pasta anymore!
Wherever you are, I hope that you are closing in on a very productive work week and looking forward to your weekend. Make sure to savor all the good moments and be thankful for all you have in your life. Perhaps you, too, will look at Friday the 13th as your lucky day!
