As we wake and welcome in the month of October, we greet it with the first (harvest) of two full moons, this month. We also begin the final quarter of one of the craziest years most of us have lived through!
This 4th quarter, also the holiday season, often is accompanied by stress. Good stress, bad stress, it impacts our bodies, regardless, and our energy often becomes drained. With the virus still here and flu season just around the corner, protecting our energy will help us maintain good health. Immune systems can plummet into a downward spiral if we don’t recognize the importance of setting boundaries and keeping our energy positive. Here is a good starting list (courtesy of @nedratawwab) to do just that. You add to your own list what YOU need (and want) this season.

Not answering the phone when it’s not convenient to talk

Replying to texts at my convenience

Speaking to myself kindly while dealing with uncomfortable feelings

Waking up early to ground myself before getting the day started

Choosing my battles (everything is not of equal importance)

Leaving events, conversations and interactions when my energy is being drained (peacefully, of course)

Taking time to RELAX, REFLECT and RESTORE
I would add to this list, drinking lots of water, getting some sunshine (aka vitamin D), regular exercise, meditation and maybe considering a little social media “diet”…After watching The Social Dilemma on Netflix, yesterday, this is heavy on my mind, but since I have already taken enough of your social media time, I will save that for another day!
