I am loving how Alison starts the show announcing how much weight has been lost in total, so far and last night we learn that they are down 504 pounds!!! The contestants also learn that they will be sporting their week 1 “age” shirts the next day, making everyone wonder “what’s next?” Split into 3 teams they are told each group will have to guess the total calories in their 3 favorite meals and the person who comes closest gets to pick their new trainer, second goes next, 3rd last. As we see these meals, it’s easier to understand how someone gets to the weight they are. As an example, Sunny’s favorite meal of enchiladas, refried beans, chips, salsa and all the fixin’s = 4,162 calories!!
After everyone guesses, the teams end up like this:
Dolvett/Red – Jessica, John and Bonnie. (Bonnie is elated about this as she cannot take another day with Anna)
Bob/Black – Becky, Antone and Vinny
Blue/Anna – Joe, Sunny and my boy, Ramom
Basically, very few people are happy and most of them have new trainers. The blue team is concerned that this is not going to be good for them. I loved the way Anna handled this. She didn’t take any of it personally and kept reminding her new team members that THEY made their weight loss happen…THEY did the work…THEY were responsible. On the red team, John cries to Dolvett and Dolvett tells him to warm up and get to work. Dolvett makes a big emotional break through with Bonnie (might she stop crying like she is in labor every week??) All trainers work their teams out HARD and Ramon announces that the little blond is kicking his butt.
Time for a commercial–Dolvett makes salads and burgers with non other than Jennie-O products. He remade a couple of the favorite dishes from the earlier challenge, reducing the calories to very normal numbers.
The regular challenge was basically slip and sliding, smashing through some blocks, grabbing one with a letter or a number on it and collecting enough to unscramble to reveal a prize. Blue team wins and gets immunity for just one of their players and are told to decide who. This was an ok challenge with a horrible prize. They can’t decide so they use rock/paper/scissors and Joe wins. Stupid.
Last chance workout. Bob is outdoors. Dolvett takes them to Muscle Beach in Venice and Anna is also outdoors doing drills with them. I happen to really like Anna’s drills and often want to jump in.
Alas, it’s time to face the scale. This is where it got weird for me. Out of the 9 of them, 6 pulled double digits. Ramon and Antone each lost 16 pounds. Joe and John, 15 pounds each. Even the women did really well, Becky losing 11, and even Bonnie pulling a 7. Blue team actually blew up the scale winning the weigh in. I am thankful that Ramon was safe, but this put the red team on the chopping block and since John had the greatest percentage of weight loss, he has immunity.
This pitted Jessica against Bonnie and it was up to the other two teams to decide who would go and who would stay.
Because Bonnie poses little to no threat, she is saved and we say goodbye to Jessica. Poor Ramon. He is probably too dependent on having his new love with him 24/7 but my thoughts are that he will rise to the challenge, without her. He is big on taking the leadership role.
The very end always makes me cry. A lot. Last night we saw a brand new Jessica at 185 pounds and wearing a size 10. She looks fabulous and is seen training with a couple of Pittsburgh Steelers. Her goal is to come back and win the marathon to make it into the finale. My money is on her.
Really? Week 8 and Bonnie is still on the ranch? I am kind of shocked. Biggest Loser. Definitely changing lives!!

OK … I just have to say it again – Bonnie (on BL) annoys me beyond belief. She freaking cried because she made it to the bottom of the slip n slide! Jeez – Give me a Break! I do however, agree with her about something … I’m not really fond of Anna either. She’s a decent trainer but she’s not very intuitive about her clients. She keeps annoying them instead of motivating them. Maybe as the season goes on and she becomes more familiar with Training I will warm up to her, but for now I would not choose to train with her (if there were another option).
Jessica looked H-O-T Hot ! Did you notice how Ramon said “I love you” again and the editing showed no response from Jessica. I wonder if that’s Jess or the editing … hmmm ?

Carol, I noticed the same thing with Ramon and Jess…he is talking like they are walking down the aisle and she is just “there.” At least that’s how it seems but maybe it IS the editing or maybe not…makes us look MORE forward to the finale!!! I agree that Anna is far from the best trainer, and my guess is she wont be long for this show (though I am sure her fame and LOOKS pull in ratings) I can’t say I don’t like her…she seems so nice and my training style would probably be VERY similar (at least with the “elders” and the nice guy stuff) BUT she has to step it up now Ramon on her team!!! He needs to make it to the finals 🙂 And Bonnie–she has been hanging on for way too many weeks and since she seems to pose little threat I worry that she will hang around, if she is up against ANYONE in elimination….oiy!
