One of my neighbors, Joanne, is moving into a condo that only allows 1 small dog. Big problem is…she has two small dogs and is hoping someone will rescue them, so they can remain together. Both male, chihuahuas, Bandit is 6 with a very sweet temperament (I can attest to this). Pepe is 7 and is a little more cautious, but once he knows you, he’s a doll. They are both healthy, vaccinated and neutered. While they are still living home with their people, (next 2 weeks) you can call Joanne directly at 954 864 6291, if you are interested in meeting these guys. Or, you can gothrough Grateful Paws Dog and Cat Rescue… email or call Sheri Caldwell at gratefulpaws@bellsouth.net (website is gratefulpaws.org) phone # is (day) 954 554 3332/ (eve) 954 462 8840. Please share this with everyone. The Joanne and her husband, Steve are hoping for the miracle of keeping both boys together.
Also on the local level, if you are interested in learning a little more about life on a plant-based diet, come out to the Coral Springs Northwest Regional Library (3151 N. University Drive) on Saturday the 8th of September and see a short film, with a question and answer session by M. Butterflies Katz, a vegan for the past 30 years. Her cookbook will be sold for $20.00 and food companies Tofurkey, Daiya, Alternative Baking Company, Virgils Root Beer will be participating and animal free toiletries will be available for purchase. To reserve a spot at “It’s Easy to be Vegan” send an email to veganpoet@hotmail.com.
Once again, if you know anyone that might be interested in the pups or the vegan event, please share this entry. And don’t forget to celebrate Vegan Thursday…consider that meatless meal…or two…or 3!
