I watched the makeover show backwards last night. Getting home from work at 8:30, then watching some Heat basketball (go Heat!) while catching up with Mitch, we ended up switching back and forth between the game and BL, and then I realized that it was make-over week. I saw the weigh in (and the result of the makeovers) before the actual makeover segment, with none other than Tim Gunn, starring as the fairy godmother (father?).
Ironically, watching it out of sequence didn’t stop me from crying tears of joy as I watched the 5 remaining contestants emerge one by one from their fairy tale carriage ride. Didn’t I just tell my SilverSneakers students how my very favorite part of the royal weddings is the carriage?? Since I am never happy with the clothes the contestants end up in on the makeover episode, it was a twist to have them all wear Cinderella type, ballroom gowns. Someone, though, please tell me why they insisted (or allowed) Hannah to squeeze into the dress she wore? After losing all that weight, why not wear something that doesn’t show back fat? I am not sure I like her as a dirty blond, either. Refraining from saying anything else negative, I will say that Olivia (and her adorable husband) rocked my world last night. I LOVE HER HAIR!!! Thought she looked incredibly glamorous in the strapless dress and hearing her sing opera was just over the top. What a voice! She has been my favorite since week one and looking at the difference between her then and last night is just insane!!!! AND she won a new car, as did Irene, who also looked great! Mitch has liked Irene since the beginning. I do hope to see Olivia, Hannah, Irene and Austin as the final 4. Jay has done an awesome job, but let the “kids” have the glory. I honestly think that Olivia would make the best role model as the last one standing at the finale. We’ll see soon enough. With Tim Gunn having one final magical act to give them, he magically removed the yellow line, which Hannah and Jay had fallen below. All the refrigerator lights remain on for another week! Nice…
It’s time for me to get ready for work. My last day of classes at Bally Total Fitness. Weird. I hate saying good-bye to anyone, and I won’t. I am thankful that so many of the members of my SilverSneaker family, will be able to make the move to Tamarac Fitness Center with me on Monday the 9th. Remember that we will start off with back-to-back classes on Monday at 11:30 and 12:30 and then have 11:30 classes Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (Tues/Friday with Carol, Mon/Wed with me). I hope to see as many of you there as possible and hope that the change is not too challenging. For those of you that are not relocating with me, I am sure I will see you again, if not at a gym, then at Publix or out and about town. Please continue to stop into peaceandfitness and let me know how you are doing with your fitness routines. Regardless of where you exercise, keep doing it! You have all made incredible strides with your exercise programs and I know how positively your health (physical and mental) has been impacted by our wonderful “family.” Keep practicing gratitude and lets include being grateful for the years we had together at Bally and for some of us, time together, way back to the days at The Quadrangle in the 1990s. I am certainly grateful, for that and so much more.

Thank you, Bonni, for a phenomenal class last night. It is hard to believe that 1 year has flown by. I loved the stretching and gentleness of the second class, also. It felt so good and I am at peace.
Good luck with the new transition at TFC with your Silver Sneakers students. You are like the “Pied Piper…” people will follow you ANYWHERE!!!!!

I missed class last night to spend the evening with a group of girlfriends who mean the world to me. We talked and laughed and ate and laughed and enjoyed each other immensely.
RE: BL – That was the WORST makeover episode ever (IMO) ! The hair styles, the clothes – it was all bad. Poor Hannah looked ridiculous with her hair (color and cut) and the dress – yuck! What were they thinking ?!?
Olivia and her husband were a bright spot in the episode as were Olivia and Irene winning new cars – WooHoo – Go Girls !
