Good morning. Carol R. sent me an email letting me know that the therapy she has been receiving to help retrain her muscles, will be featured on the Dr. Oz show, today. MAT (Muscle Activation Techniques) is basically a process that works to assure all muscles are “firing” (contracting) efficiently and helps prepare the body for optimal motion. For locals that might be interested, Carol goes to a certified MAT therapist in Coral Springs. If you aren’t local, check Google, but remember to look for one that is certified. While this therapy is not meant to relieve pain, pain relief would be the ultimate long term benefit, as muscles re-learn their jobs!
And while we are on the subject of pain relief, a 14-year study that followed a healthy over 60 crowd, found that consistent exercise led to as much as 25 percent less musculoskeletal pain down the road. The exercise YOU do TODAY (and most every day…) will help you lead a more active and independent life in the future. Be it running, swimming, dancing, brisk walking, yoga, Pilates or cross-training, exercise will not only boost your endorphins today, but improve strength, flexibility and quality of life tomorrow….
From pain to paint this morning….I found this quote in my morning mail and it really made me think about what my painting would look like tonight. Hope it makes you think about yours. Sometimes just adding one little “splash,” might make all the difference.
“Each day is a new canvas to paint upon. Make sure your picture is full of life and happiness, and at the end of the day you don’t look at it and wish you had painted something different.”
