Today is the last day to pick or switch a Medicare Advantage plan 0r stand alone prescription coverage for 2013. Seniors are urged to research their choices and here in my home state of Florida, Medicare counseling volunteers are answering calls for help at 800-963-5337. Still being on private insurance, I don’t know a whole lot about this, but I do know that most insurance companies are offering SilverSneakers as a free benefit and if you have this benefit you should definitely take advantage of it! It gives you a free, full gym membership, but try to look for a club that also offers our award winning SilverSneakers classes. This program is available all over the country and if you are a senior or you know a senior, they should be encouraged to participate in this program which not only provides a great overall workout, but allow people to make new friends in a great social environment. It is not only fun, but it really does work! In the next few weeks and months, I look forward to welcoming new faces into our already existing, wonderful group of participants at Tamarac Fitness Center. I’ll be there today at 11:30 and as always, look forward to seeing my family of students, who teach me more than I can ever teach them.
