The final week on the ranch finds the remaining 5 contestants with Ali who lets them know how much weight they have lost to date…John 140 pounds, Antone 166, Vinny 102, Sunny 75 and Becky 61 pounds. All this in 11 weeks! Seriously, no matter how many weeks, months, seasons and years I watch this show, I am NEVER without awe over these incredible numbers and the amount of dedication it takes to achieve them. Ali lets them know this is the week they get to shed their weight all over again as they compete in a race up the mountain, with their “re-gained” weight, dropping the amount of pounds they lost each week, along the way. The contestant who makes it to the top first, wins a one-pound advantage and that turns out to be John.
With the challenge behind them, it’s time for celebrity makeovers with Ken Paves doing hair and Jeannie Mai doing wardrobe. I am always jealous about the Ken Paves thing. Years ago, while I still had my forever long hair, Jane and I tried to get on Oprah for celebrity makeovers but we both ended up right here in Coral Springs, each donating our many inches to Locks of Love and definitely got ourselves some new looks. Back to our show, where the contestants will have a chance to walk the red carpet, sporting their new look. A spa day, shopping for new clothes, and new hairdos. Who wouldn’t love that?
They arrive on the red carpet to all their fans and they all looked great! John and Becky certainly stood out to me. Becky has gone from a size 20 to a size 10 and her figure is looking pretty sexy for the oldest contestant still standing. Her new hair cut is absolutely adorable on her. Once inside, we one-by-one see them as they see their loved one who have met them there. Becky’s husband meets her with flowers and gives her her wedding ring back. I guess it was too small on her finger until now. She looks like she could be his daughter! He better watch his step. Becky looks like she could be his daughter, now! This is a whole aspect of BL (or anyone’s major weight loss) that is never really discussed on the show or on here. One needs a very secure partner for such a life changing event. Sunny and her husband look really cute together. Antone’s wife is adorable. They all get to watch Iris, a Cirque de Soleiel show.
Next day, back at the ranch, they show off their makeovers and introduce their partners to their trainers. Then it’s a last chance workout, literally. Finally, it’s time to weigh in and see who will go home and who will be the final 4. Personally, I kind of feel the same about all 5 of them. No one that I love. No one that I wish to see leave. Very unemotional (for me). I miss Ramon. I saw him on the Today show yesterday morning, looking awesome!!!! On the scale, Vinny pulls a 10, John a 9 (plus he won that one point advantage). John is a furnace, burning calories like fire burns wood. Antone loses 8 pounds, and Becky 5, but Sunny (who actually weighed in first) only lost 1 pound. It is she and Antone who fall below and Sunny is sent home, because it IS a game and Antone poses way too much of a threat.
At home we see Sunny playing tennis with her husband, something she has wanted to do. She must be pretty good, too, as she ended up with private lessons from her trainer, Anna! What a bonus, huh? She is down 96 pounds and after they told us her workout schedule, my hope is that she can sustain it. I am not so sure boot camp 3 mornings a week BEFORE going to work as a teacher is going to be something she can do for life.
Next week, the final 4, with representation from each age group, interestingly enough, will compete with the home contestants in the marathon. The winner is assured a spot in the finale. Should be a very interesting twist. I hope Ramon has been working on his running….Run Ramon, Run!!!!

Kudos to Jeannie Mai who did an outstanding job with the fashion this year. I thought they all looked fantastic ! I loved that the significant others had a chance to meet the trainers this year and they all talked about what kind of support was needed at home.
Once the finale has come and gone – Sunny will need to back off on her schedule. No WAY can she maintain that kind of physical activity every day.
Loved last night’s class – I need that stretching and decompressing sooo much. Thanks Bonni – You Rock !
Carol…totally agree that this year they got the clothing right! (a nice change from previous years)…great job by Jeannie Mai. Wasn’t feeling that John’s wife was going to be super supportive, but just a feeling.
Glad you got decompressed! Definitely what we all need this time of year!!! oxox

I’m dfiinetely going to do this while my house is under siege by Irene, detriment to Wi-Fi and, therefore, almost everything fun. Well-timed!
