Week 7 of Biggest Loser found the contestants going solo. After they got their t-shirts, it was time for the temptation challenge. In honor of Valentine’s Day they would be holed up in a room full of sweets for 10 minutes. Whoever consumed the most calories would win a 2 pound advantage on the scale….oh how I HATE the temptation challenges on every level! To make things twistier, they would do this in the dark, not knowing who was opting to eat at all, or what they were consuming. Gina tried tricking them by moving food around and gulping water as if to helps swallow the food, but being diabetic she knew better than to eat any of the sweets. Alex and Fran both begin eating the second the lights go off. Some sit on the floor, to make a stand that they are NOT eating. Jeff eats just enough to satisfy his sweet tooth. Danni hit the floor doing leg lifts! Smart girl. In the end, Jeff consumed 270 calories, Alex 1036 and Francelina 1150, winning the 2 pound advantage. She is also told she can give a 2 pound advantage to any other player, and picked Alex for taking the risk of eating and coming so close.
We get to see last week’s eliminated contestant Lisa who is down 79 pounds, and her husband down 60! The trainers also check in with Sunny, who goes for Bollywood dance lessons, Lindsay who gets to participate in cheerleading practice with the chance to be an honorary member if she practices hard enough and Bingo who gets his boot off and can begin training to try out for the junior baseball team. But it’s time to get back to business on the ranch where the trainers have mixed things up and picked contestants to train since everything is new now that they are singles.
This week’s challenge looked like fun to me. The winner would get to bring a family member to the ranch for 24 hours and keeping with the theme, would get to pick another contestant to have a 24 hour visit as well. The object of the challenge was to run to the spotlight in the arena they were in. Last one there gets eliminated. Gina was out first round. Moving the light across the arena, Jackson is last and eliminated. By round 3 they are moving the light in a way that forces the contestants up the stairs and around the concourse. Michael is eliminated. Round 4, back downstairs and up the other side. Alex is out. At round 5, Alison tells them that whoever get’s there first, wins the challenge and Danni busts out all her energy and wins. Without hesitation she gives Gina the 24 hour visit, and again, without hesitation, she generously opts out of her prize, giving it to Michael. This girl has it all and I certainly hope to see her in the finals.
After family members visit (I was so happy Michael got to see his baby, too!) and we see some attitude from Alex, it’s time for the weigh in. This week we see the return of the yellow line which means 2 people fall below and the rest of the contestants vote the elimination. Forget about everyone else, I was elated (crying) that Jackson pulled a 13!!! YES! I am rooting for that boy. In the end, Michael is eliminated (hmmm….maybe Danni should have kept that prize for herself??) Sorry, Jane he will NOT be the Biggest Loser as you predicted week 1. When Michael arrived on the ranch he weighed 444 and today is 320 down 124 pounds. He may very well be the one who takes home the at home prize of $100,000. We shall see.
Next week…a chance for all of them to win immunity…some intense team building…and exhaustive sand digging challenge and more of this winning by losing stuff. And…we get one week close to makeover week!!!
My prediction for the final 4….Jackson, Danni, Joe and Gina
