Happy National Wear Red Day. Did you know that heart disease is the number one killer of females in our country? All across the country, people will be sporting red attire, to bring awareness to this fact. If you are a woman or you love a woman, please wear something red to show your support.
There are so many things we can be doing (man and woman) to become HEART HEALTHY. I hope my blog serves as just one microscopic size tool to help spread the word on heart healthy eating and exercise. A bowl of oatmeal or a high fiber, whole grain bread or wrap with breakfast this morning is a great way to help clean out those arteries. Any exercise that gets your heart-rate up in the “training zone,” and/or some yoga and/or meditation to then slow your heart-rate, massage your central nervous system and lower your blood pressure would be the best prescription for your heart health today (and any day).
Perhaps a glass of a fine red wine to go with dinner tonight, hopefully with someone who makes your heart happy…after all it IS not only National Wear Red Day, but also FRIDAY!
Thanks for all the good wishes, comments, emails and phone calls yesterday. The colonoscopy, prep and all, was ABSOLUTELY nothing to put off. The peace of mind is well worth the experience. Don’t listen to everyone’s tales of woe–the prepping, at least for me, was not horrible at all. I don’t want to go on about me–if anyone has any questions regarding this topic, just contact me through my contact page and I will be happy to answer any questions. This screening can easily save your life. Colon cancer can basically be eradicated with this one, pretty simple screening.
For yourself and for your loved ones, please take care of your body from top to bottom. It IS your temple. Treat it that way.

I wore red at the gym today and it’s amazing to see how many women do not own red workout clothes! What is it with Black? Booorrring!
Go Red For Women celebrates the energy, passion and power we have as women to band together to wipe out heart disease and stroke.
So wear RED today and wear it proudly! No boring Black.

I think that is an interesting point, it made me think a bit. Thanks for sparking my thinking cap. Sometimes I get so much in a rut that I just feel like a record.
