In light of the amount of rain that fell yesterday and last night, and what might still fall today, along with the gusting winds, tropical storm watches and tornado warnings, Tamarac Fitness Center will be closed today, August 27. While I was going to teach mine and Ellen’s classes this morning, keeping me in one place for the whole morning, it didn’t make any sense to me to have everyone driving to get there, so I was glad Ron was in agreement when we spoke earlier this morning. Exercise is one of the most important things in life, but I am a big believer in SAFETY FIRST. You can always get some exercise inside the house, or take the day as a rest day. If you are one of my students, I will be back at the gym tomorrow at 10am to sub Ellen’s SS class, at 11:30 for my own SS class and back at 6 for cardio/strength and 7 for Pilates/yoga mix. Take today to be grateful that for us, Isaac was a gentleman. Let us all keep good thoughts as the storm heads (now) over Tampa (stay safe Kyle and Nicole) and then makes it’s way up towards the gulf coast states of. Please stay gentle, Isaac.
To all the teachers and students that don’t have school today (for some it was a first day) ENJOY your “storm” day. All public schools in Monroe, Dade and Broward counties are closed today, as are most private schools as well.
Always remember one of the important lessons young and wise Matty Stepanik taught us during his way too short life…and that is to remember to play after every storm.
Well, I should learn to look at your blog when there is water involved and the gym. didn’t do that, so I drove down to TFC this morning lookng for my workout-since I was a couch potato yesterday, only to find massive flooding in the parking lot. and the gym closed.
Anyway, looking forward to class tomorrow.
I don’t understand Ron & Wendie at all ! They have a FaceBook page for TFC – why don’t they post changes and info on the page and advertise the page at the gym. We could all just “like” TFC and get the info without having to call or waste our time driving there!
Hey Carol…I didnt know they have a FB page…I will suggest they use it when I see Ron later…The flooding in the parking lot is a situation that has gotten worse only recently…I have been driving to that gym since the early 1980s and I don’t ever remember it to be a problem till recently.
