Yesterday afternoon, after donating blood, I watched the documentary FED UP. For some reason I thought it was about the sugar crisis in our nation***, but it was actually about the evolution of factory farming and farm technology. I am not sure what to take away from it, as I lean so heavily into a plant-based diet and cannot really afford to always buy organic, but I awareness is everything and I will try harder to find more locally grown and organic food.
I am so proud and delighted that my nephew Aaron has taken his amazing education and degrees to create a business, Evergreen Creations, that brings local farmers and students together for the betterment of both. If you are a farmer, know a farmer or are parents of young children check out his site. This is a big month for corn mazes and pumpkin patches and Aaron has written a bunch of books that entertain and educate children as they travel through the mazes and patches, as well as through the rest of the year. These lessons extend to teaching children that it’s better than OK to be different and help spread the anti-bullying message as they educate. WIN/WIN/WIN!
Last night’s Biggest Loser found Matt below the red line. He left and Bob found him along the way to bring him to “his” house. This week it is Matt against the guy with the ponytail who went home last week (can’t remember his name…maybe Mike??). I like them both but am so anxious to see what Matt, ex wrestler AND model will look like in just a few more months, so my vote goes to him. Back at the ranch, I am liking Lori who I think has it in her to go far with this. I don’t care for Blakey but I think she is going to do well, also. I find myself partial to all the women on Jen’s team. Trainer Jessie is ridiculously gorgeous but he isn’t really striking me in the training department, yet. Never been a big Dolvett fan, especially after seeing him on a survival show where he was the FIRST one out because he hit total panic mode in the water and needed to be rescued. I suppose it shows that we all have our weaknesses but it still made me a little less of a fan. Shame on me!!!!
Time to shower off my running sweat and hit the gym for SilverSneakers class.
Have a great Friday everyone!!!
***I admit to being confused. Maybe what I watched was another doc with same name??? It DOES say it’s about the sugar crisis. That is not what I saw….either I wasn’t paying proper attention or ???????
