While a heat wave has been going on in the northeast, it still can’t hold a torch to how the Miami Heat has turned it up! As Heat fans woke up yesterday, celebrating the contracts of both Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh, they hold their breath today, with the rumors that tonight Lebron James will announce his journey south, as well. If this holds true, the Miami Heat will be THE dream team to be reckoned with. If yesterday was a day of celebration, today may be even more so. GO HEAT!!!!
Last night Mitch and I split a bowl of split pea soup and a Mediterranean platter for 2 at the Falafel Bistro and Wine Bar in Parkland. If you live locally and haven’t been to the new one on Coral Ridge and the Sawgrass, I highly recommend. A little pricey, but they make healthy, delicious, fresh soups and though they bill themselves as vegetarian, you can also get a nice piece of fish there. I have yet to have a soup there that wasn’t THE BEST. I have had there lentil, bean, mushroom barley, pumpkin (TO DIE FOR) and split pea. Treat yourself to some clean, healthy, non-salt laden food if you live locally. They just converted their old place on Wiles Road into a grill, making traditional meat and chicken wraps, and of course falafel, too. Try one, the other, or both! For more info or to look at the menu go to www.falafel-bistro.com
And while I am on the food topic, Derek and his friends left a freezer full of SO DELICIOUS brand coconut water sorbets. Ok, I tried them all. The lemonade was good, the raspberry excellent and the hibiscus over the top delicious (and gorgeous- i would like my toenails polished in that color). If you are looking for a dessert without cholesterol (its still has plenty of sugar) and relatively low in calories, check it out! I am guessing it was purchased at Whole Foods. Really, really good! (Note: I DO NOT care for coconut ANYTHING –except coconut water–in this product you cannot taste ANYTHING that even resembles coconut, but the water is supposed to be healthy, which makes sense to me!)
Rita, I am so sorry about Amber. I know Ted must be pretty torn up as I remember how this effects him. Hang in with that and the MRI. I guess Monday you will know a lot more. Carol, I am glad you got in a good workout when I saw you on Tuesday. YAY! Judy, keep holding up the fort! Carole, I wish you were going to be with us this weekend, but you know we will have you with us in spirit, for sure. Lisa, stay focused on the wedding, the dress and the shoes. Take care of that foot of yours!
I’ll be taking a short break from blogging while Mitch and I go get our “gaga” on. I will also DEFINITELY be stepping out of my box to indulge in some real New York pizza. That alone spells vacation to me! Be back very soon. Much love…

Come on down James! You knooow he’s coming our way. They are really keeping us in suspense. Loved the new “Miami Wade County” sign they put up on the arena.
Hope you have a wonderful time in NY and i hope Mitch can maneuver his way to the front of the croud for a GaGa glimpse 😉
Yes, I know that the wedding is 3 weeks away. Just wish I could lose 10 lbs like the losers do in a week. My arms are getting toned from these damn crutches.
Love ya,
Pitza
