Getting so wrapped up in the SilverSneakers contest, and the 21 day meditation challenge, I have not had time to blog as I regularly do. Thanks again to everyone who helped Charlotte accumulate over 2000 votes and come in an extremely close second in the contest, but a winner in my book.
The gym is closed today as we celebrate the Labor Day holiday. It’s weird to wake up on Labor Day and not have a Jerry Lewis telethon going on. It’s even weirder that I passed on watching the mini Show of Strength last night including “best of” snips and opted to binge on Breaking Bad, instead. Can’t live in the past…have to stay in the present. I will, however, remember to make a donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, this year in honor of an old friend, boss and producer of the show, Bob Considine, who we lost this week to cancer at 70 years old. RIP, Mr. Producer. You were the best mentor a young girl could ask for and you taught me so much about television production, editing, writing, and more importantly life. We shared many fun times that are forever imprinted in my brain and heart. I am so grateful I recently, after so many decades, had the opportunity to thank you.
I am off to do the bonus day meditation and then to train. Mitch just reminded me its September. I love summer and will hold on to the last couple of weeks, really tightly. There are still 80 laps left to be completed in order to meet my summer goal of 1000! Since our pool needs some serious work (SOON!) I am hoping to polish off those laps in the next 3 weeks. Anything after the first day of fall is a bonus. Here in South Florida, I can some years still be in the pool till at least Halloween, but you never know when the weather might change and as the days get shorter, the pool does get cooler, but again, staying in the present, the temp is just right!
I will be on a regular schedule the rest of the week and will be subbing for Ellen tomorrow, Thursday and Friday at 10.
Go out and make it a wonderful holiday. Thanks again for all your support in the SilverSneakers voting. You guys rocked!

I happened across your blog. Thank you so much for the beautiful words on our uncle, Bob Considine. He would be thrilled to know you remembered him.
Awe, Chantal. I was so happy to find your comment. Just recently, I was so happy to find and reconnect with some of my favorite people from the Muscular Dystrophy Association. It was a thrill to find your Uncle Bob, but so bittersweet to learn of his illness. I have only fond memories of him and will forever be grateful to have had him in my life decades ago, and to have had the opportunity, just a few months ago, to let him know how he impacted my life, forever. My deepest sympathy to you and the family. Karen Rosen tells me “how wonderful Bob’s nieces and nephews were to him.” May he rest in eternal peace.
