I am happy to announce that I completed my goal of 1000 laps of swimming in my backyard pool. I did this on Friday evening and it felt great. As Mitch pointed out, I can now enjoy the pool without counting….That is just one of my rewards.
It does make me a little sad that swim season will come to an end in the next month or so. Of course, I am grateful that I live in the sunshine state and our swim season is longer than most others, at least in our country. When swim season ends, it’s time for a new challenge. I will try to up my running as the days get cooler, as there are more opportunities in the day to get out on the streets (I am NOT a treadmill runner and don’t think I ever will be). During the summer months, running time is a bit limited to the hours before or after it hits 90 degrees, though most days I do end up running when the thermometer is already right about at the 90 degree mark. The cooler temps will hopefully help me increase my speed—which is much like a snail.
Doesn’t really matter how fast one runs, how many laps they swim, how much weight they can push/pull or lift or what the scale says. Those are just add ons, bonuses, incentives, goals, etc., What matters is that everyone says today is MY someday and gets busy doing something! By now we have all heard, repeatedly, that we need to do some daily exercise and of course eat healthfully. Daily exercise, that’s easy to understand. Doesn’t have to be fancy or competitive just has to find you moving! As for the healthy eating….that is so open to interpretation….and a topic for other days 🙂
