Congratulations to the Miami Dolphins for their second win of the pre-season, last night. Great game, though admittedly I only saw the first half. Everyone was on their game, from our QB Henne, who managed to NOT throw any interceptions to our newly acquired superstar Reggie Bush, who definitely knows how to run with the ball….and it’s always nice to see my boy Jason back in his green and orange #99. This looks to be an exciting season for the Dolphins and the Dolfans!
Football, the vision of ripe tomatoes and other veggies growing in the garden and the desire to reconnect with the ground via running and walking OUTSIDE, actually remind me of why we all need seasons. While the coming to an end of summer has always saddened me, with the shorter daylight and the cooler water temperatures, this year, I am finding it easier to think about the change. While I couldn’t wait to swim and I am loving every stroke, the thought of hitting the trail and occasionally feeling a breeze is kind of exciting. The thought of a couple of months of “the best of both worlds” is even more exciting.
Want more inspiration to eat your greens? Watch the Sanjay Gupta show on CNN tomorrow night for an interview with President Bill Clinton and the fine doctors behind The China Study and Forks Over Knives. This airs at 8pm Eastern time. Check locally for your time zone. I just read an incredible article in this week’s Newsweek Magazine about the one word we should be telling our doctors and that word is NO. I will definitely be going into detail about this during the week. For today, suffice to leave you with these two words….DIET AND EXERCISE….then again, I would say that!
