Working in a gym, all too often I hear that thump of someone flying off the treadmill. Please, do yourself a big favor and when you join a new gym or workout on a treadmill you haven’t been on before ASK FOR HELP. Every brand of treadmill is a little different and they are NOT forgiving pieces of equipment. Since it’s been highly encouraged to NOT hold on when using the machine, this makes them even a little more dangerous. Don’t get me wrong, they are great machines for burning calories, improving cardio-respiratory endurance and building some bone density in the lower body and spine, but be smart and get a one-minute tutorial before getting on!
This morning I also want to send a shout out to some people in my life that are either in the process, or have recently given up cigarette smoking. Though I may be annoying and checking in on you, just know that you are in my thoughts and know how much better you will all feel (and how much more money you will have!) putting this addiction behind you.
