No picture this morning. It didn’t seem right to put up clip art…It’s seems pretty crazy to be blogging daily and still not know how to properly post pictures to the site. Kyle set me up with a great app to do this from my iPad, but I just can’t seem to figure out how to make it happen. That said, congratulations to Kyle and Nicole on winning best costume at work yesterday. One crazy clown and his own living doll managed to take first place as voted by their co-workers at SteelCast. They seem to have the kind of work environment everyone dreams about. That makes this mom very happy! If anyone wants to see the picture, friend me on Facebook (Bonni Bregman Zipp) or email me here and I will send you a picture.
Despite crazy weather (everywhere!) we had more trick-or-treaters last night than I remember the past few years. Mitch and I managed to make ourselves into a couple of ghosts, and as we always do, we sat out on the driveway with some frightening Halloween cds playing in the background. While our costumes left A LOT to be desired, they seemed to work. In fact, I had to take my sheet off once or twice to assure the little ones that I was really friendly. Lots of screams, lots of laughs. I love Halloween!
Mitch left for work with all the leftover candy. There wasn’t much, but it was still more than we need in the house. I satisfied my own before bed sweet tooth with some Ghiradelli semi-sweet chocolate chips. They contain no milk and for 70 calories you can have about 30 of them. Filled with antioxidants and shown to be heart healthy, they are a staple in my house and my diet. Great for baking and snacking, you can find them in the baking aisle at your grocery store– they are the ones in the gold wrapper.
Yesterday I saw my favorite video trainer, Tony Horton, on the Dr. Oz show. He is exactly my age, 53, and talked about how he was a punky kid who used to stutter and be made fun of. When he started working out, it began to change the way he felt about himself, and he claims the boost in his self-esteem helped him stop stuttering. He now looks awesome and speaks perfectly, in front of groups of thousands. The show featured a few women who used P90X videos to each lose well over 100 pounds. Wow! Tony and Dr. Oz were actually promoting 10 minute workouts (Tony also does the 10 Minute Trainer series) and showed some moves that he recommends. Whether you want to be in your BEST shape ever, in 90 days and have many hours a week to devote to training routines like P90x or have just 10 minutes a day to bust your butt and take the “slow and steady wins the race route,” there is a fitness program just for you. You just have to get on a road and stay on it!
Congratulations to BJ on losing all that weight while on vacation. THAT is the proof that you really get it, Barbara. Making great decisions and understanding the importance of daily physical activity. Yes, BJ, “they” seem to be on to something. I know that you are very lucky to have Rita for support, coaching and as your “cheerleader,” for she is THE best.
I will be at TFC today teaching SilverSneakers at 10am, Senior Strength at 11:30 and then back tonight for Cardio/sculpting at 6 and Pilates/Yoga Stretch Reduction at 7. If you are at TFC member, I hope to see you at one of those classes. The rest of you keep on keeping on. You are all doing great and I love to hear of your accomplishments!!!
Biggest Loser tonight. Even as the show is not nearly as exciting as other seasons, it is still my favorite TV night of the week. Meet you back here tomorrow for the play-by-play 🙂 Make it a great day.
