It’s only about 7:15am on this beautiful Sunday morning and already I have found an abundance of peace. Awakening too early for a Sunday morning, my bigredretriever, Blaze, decided he wanted up (and out), too. Walking out into the darkness of the backyard, we were greeted by a beautiful sky filled with stars and a crescent moon. My grandkitty, Roxy, overly affectionate in the morning, awaited my rising with lots of words and a warm belly to rub. As if to match the morning moon, a fresh, unopened bag of Crescent Moon coffee, straight from the roaster (who happens to be a cousin) sat beside my coffee maker, waiting to be brewed. Reading several chapters from my current choice of books, Have a little Faith, by Mitch Albom, gave me pause to think about where I find faith–and peace.
Now the sun is up and my house is still. I am drinking coffee from the beautiful cup Derek brought me back from Japan. By reserving it for the weekends, it makes the cup even more special. I have faith that I am exactly where I am supposed to be at this moment in time. This thought alone brings me all the peace I need.
Robert Fulghum said ” Peace is not something you wish for; it’s something you make, something you do, something you are, something you give away”.
Amidst the stress of our world and the stress of the season, I encourage you to STOP and find your inner peace. No matter your situation, I promise you it’s right where you are. Have a superb Sunday.
